Australia, NSW
I am the Dean of Studies at Knox Grammar School, and an English Method Lecturer at the University of NSW (UNSW). In 2011, UNSW appointed me as the ICT Pedagogy Officer. In this role I have developed a wiki for students and lecturers that features a plethora of ways to use technology to enrich teaching and learning in English. I was awarded the first International Teaching Fellowship by the Singapore Ministry of Education in 2011. This involved running workshops for Master teachers and Leading teachers in Singapore focused on using technology to improve writing and speaking. I have been invited to present papers at International Conferences in Singapore, London, Melbourne and Philadelphia on improving writing through ICT and assessment for learning. In 2003, I was awarded the NSW Premier's Literary Scholarship so that I could travel to the United Kingdom to research how to connect students with Shakespeare. I have co-written the Oxford HSC English that won the Australian Publisher's Award in 2010. I am passionate about empowering all students to excel and their place as confident, articulate global citizens who approach life and others with a growth mind set and empathy.
